I would really appreciate having some first hand information in this. I have a little pullet that may have it, not sure. She doesnt really act sick but has a terribly swollen face and head area. It is inhibiting her sight which seems to be the only problem. She does scratch her head occasionally but never shakes it and has not nasal or eye discharge.
If you have experienced it with any of your flock members or have any advise on treatment please off your expertise. Does swollen head syndrome accompany any other symptoms that I might look for in her?
It was suggested in another thread that I posted she might have swollen head syndrome. I wonder if she may have been stung by a bee or yellow jacket as I have a lot of them around the yard. A human friend of mine was just stung in the yard the other day.
