I know this is way after you've posted, but i'd never PAY for spent grain. call up your local breweries and look up any or all home brewers associations in your area. homebrewers especially who do not have chickens etc. most likely compost or dump spent grain in the garbage. one mans trash is another's treasure...
however...within the past week we fed our chickens and pekin ducks spent grain the morning after we brewed (less than 24 hours, waiting for it to cool off) and now i think my americauna has a weak case of sour crop and it is possible that the pekin duck died from eating the grain...at least its another open ended explanation I have been thinking about.
i dont know who spends time checking for random new posts on old threads, but if anyone on here does, have you heard of pekins having trouble with spent grain?
