Yes, dying chicks deeply offends some people, I'm so sorry for the lecture! I wrongly assumed you were asking for totally different reasons.Besides an expirement for the kids and I we wanted to identify certain chicks hatched from certain eggs. An update: The chick is still alive and doing well! He has made some progress, not a complete zip though which would make me happier. I'll try to post a picture in a little bit. We have several other pips as well, some of these guys are pretty vocal! I love talking to them and hearing them peep back.
I would love knowing the details! This is something that sounds interesting to do with my daughter. My son is barely 1 1/2 so I don't think he would learn much from it

The chick was alive but deformed. It's legs were up high on the back sticking out to the sides, stomach way bigger then it should have been on a tiny chick. Like maybe the size of two yokes put together. and it's neck/head wouldn't go straight.
