THANK YOU!BunnyStyles ... I put a cup with a sponge and warm water in my incy to keep humidity high during hatch. I also use a hygrometer to help me keep track of the humidity and the temp. A warm wet washcloth or something comparable wrapped around a struggling chick still in its shell will also keep the baby moist and makes hatching easier... be aware that if you HELP by picking away shell before the blood vessels and yolk sack are ready...you can hurt it and have a dead baby! There is a thread on BYC on how and when to help it out and I would highly recommend reading it.
Here are some of my Ladies & Gentlemen:
I set 40 eggs in the incubator on Nov 15...due on Dec 5/6. They are a mixture of several varieties. One is from my bantam, 4 Cuckoo Marans, a couple of Welsummers, Barred Rock/Marans mixes and EE mixes. This is the first time for me to try hatching when the weather is cool/cold. Wish me luck!
