I will be added to the list and likely the most inexperienced hatcher ;-) This is our first time and I am CLUELESS!!
Our eggs are tracking for arrival tomorrow morning with placement in the incubator tomorrow night(after they've settled). Which would give us a hatch date of...11/29-ish(turkey day chicks!!)
We purchased the "Hatching eggs-Our best standards" from MPC. It can include basically ANYTHING...so it will be a guessing game! My daughter was SO torn on which eggs to pick that this seemed like the best way to go without spending a small fortune for eggs after spending close to $500 on day olds for the same project(she wanted the minimum number(3) of everything-LOL). Our existing flock is mixed(barred rock, production reds, and EEs with a Barred Rock roo and I didnt really want mixed breed babies)
We are using a borrowed hovabator, but if all goes well, we MAY purchase our own...I will likely be asking for recommendations later, Im sure I will find it just as addicting as raising day-olds to add to our flock ;-) Just feel bad for my husband, he has to keep adding on to the chicken coop

Im just lucky he is indulgent...last year I ordered 6 EEs and 2 silkies, feed store left a message that they had my 8chicks. I called back before listening to the message, the relayed that they had my NINE chicks. We arrived 20minutes later to pick them up...I had TEN in my box ;-) So I guess even the feed store knows what to do with the "extras"-LOL
