Anyone going to have eggs hatch in novemeber?

3 frizzle x silkies so far

no more pips yet but a lot of rocking think they having a party in there

Power went out! In 20 minutes the temp dropped to mid 80's on eggs. I put them on my stomach under shirt and quilt temp back up to almost 100. I don't think any are going to hatch as it's day 25 but husband says wait til day 26the before giving up hope since the 1kids I murdered was developed around day 18/19.

I was listening to see if I could hear anything and after a little 'pop' one of the eggs cheeped! All is not lost. Hubby can laugh at me for keeping them warm on my stomach while the power was out but I'll be laughing later. Possible second egg internal pip about an hour later. I guess the survivors have decided to jump 'shell' before the temp changes again

I'm at the end of day 9 now, and candled again (it's so addictive!) What excitement when I saw MOVEMENT!!! I'm so awe-strucked and amazed!! I only have 5 eggs left out of the original 9 - All 5 off them the offspring of the white commercial layers and RIR daddy. The RIR pullet's eggs were clear last night so I pulled them, cracked them open (after thorough, thorough candling) and they were clear indeed... This is my first attempt at incubation, and to see those little ones jumping around in the egg (does the yolk contain caffeine or something?

) is simply amazing!

well its almost 1 am here in the uk and i cant sleep

so i got up for a hot choc only to find 4 out of the 7 left have piped qite big holes so

when i do go back to bed i wake to 4 more chicks

I love it when a plan comes together. Make sure to have hubby eat crow if you get a hatch!
