Anyone got any pictures to educate someone with?

Not to take it more off-topic but... you're right about how some people *do* depend on everything they do for their very livelihood. We have been extremely spoiled here in the States in that we don't have to do much--not by world standards--in order to scrape by quite nicely, thank you very much. But for most of history and in most of the world, a careless attitude could be the difference between survival and not.

And I am as spoiled as anyone. Here I am at my computer with a messy house, and complaining half the time that I never have time to myself, and that's why I don't clean my house more often.

But I know there are others on here who are *not* spoiled like I am, and who really do have to worry about where their next meal will come from and can't afford the luxury of complaining about not getting enough "me time." It's one of the wonders of the Internet Age that we all get to meet here in cyber space and remind each other just how different life can be.

You are so right. Some people do use this as their sole means of feeding their family. And I am one of them. I am disabled and I started out with a hand full of baby chicks to raise to feed myself and my daughter eggs and meat. Now I sell excess eggs 1.50 a dozen to the locals. That pays for the feed. I just made my first post to sell Black Australorps fertile eggs on here and hopefully they will sell and that will pay for the water and electric for the chickens. Without those sells, I would not be able to raise the chickens even for food.

So tell hubby, monitor temps and humidity, you never know when you will start depending on them for your sole means of survival in this world.

i have seen many useful *debate* from above posts, quite give me a *vision* that i can use them to feed myself, but my mother don't think like that and she is just thinking that raising chicks is only a hobby, if only she know how hard it to keep them alive with everyday power outages here, she won't said so.

i will raise them to get egg and meat.
they just too cute to let them off of my hand.

and that's really give me a *sense* like a dad, when power outages happen, they will feel cool and they will make a sound like a chick lost his mom, and i need to provide kerosene lamp to make sure they're warm like usual. that really give me a sense of caring.
