Anyone got some canadian geese?

It is not illegal to own them and many people keep them in captivity. Some breeders even specialize in keeping the many subspecies pure.

As mentioned on this forum many times before, one can own captive non-domestic waterfowl as long as they have a copy of the http://www.fws.gov/forms/3-186.pdf to prove that it was hatched in captivity. If you plan to sell the birds, then you must have a USFWS permit.

DeeThomas, PM me and I'll send you some recommendations.

I stand corrected. Thank you.

I can understand with keeping the gene pool pure, as I've heard that some of the subspecies are dwindling.

I have some Canada geese. Will be awhile before I start selling them. Ha I have 4 goslings. It's ok I called them Canadian geese for the longest time!! But oh well people may not like it but it's something they can get over:)

OK, I've heard that there is a strain of Canada geese that are monsterous in size. I heard ganders can push 25-30 pounds. I believe they called them the maxima strain. Does anyone own or sell these? I am looking for some and I don't want the common ones I see everywhere and I don't want the cacklers.
