Anyone had problems with vaccinating their children?

mom'sfolly :

I would certainly ask your pediatrician about the vaccinations, and a more spread out schedule. I would also recommend ibuprofen or tylenol before the shots are given.

This is now a big no-no. Something about how the motrin or tylenol can lower the immune response to the vax.

Our doctor said tylenol before vax is fine and I have done that before every round of vax with both of my kids.

Thanks for all the posts everyone. I just wanted to see if anyone had a first hand bad expirence. I am trying to research online and finding alot of garbage that I don't trust. I think one thing most people can agree on is that vaccines do contain alot of garbage. All the stuff that is used as preservatives. I think that they are made to last a long time and like most things made today, as cheaply as possible. I was worried about posting this topic because a friend on face book posted something about it today and it got pretty nasty. Thanks for being nice everyone. I have seen a few topics on here from the last few days that have had some mean things in them. Luckily I had only encountered really nice people on here.

Wifezilla-that is a very interesting theory for the rise in autism. I am surprised I hadn't heard anything about it before today. I think alot of people have jumped on the vaccine causes autism band wagon and don't look at other possible causes.

I hate to be a cynic, but my thought on that was if it is the fault of a vaccine company, someone would have to pay. As much as I would like help with my son, blaming something that isn't at fault isn't the way to go about it. If a lack on vitamin d in the mom is the cause, you can't have a class action lawsuit against the sun. Well, I guess you could sue the gvmnt because it is their recommendation to stay out of the sun that is to blame.

Here is another article on vitamin D and autism...
"In Sweden, the 15,000-strong Somali community calls autism "the Swedish disease," says Elisabeth Fernell, a researcher at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm and a co-author of the study.

In Minnesota, where there are an estimated 60,000 Somali immigrants, the situation was quite similar: There, health officials noted reports of autism among Somali refugees, who began arriving in 1993, comparable to those found in Sweden. Within several years of arrival, dozens of the Somali families whose children were born in the U.S. found themselves grappling with autism, says Huda Farah, a Somali-born molecular biologist who works on refugee resettlement issues with Minnesota health officials. The number of Somali children in the city's autism programs jumped from zero in 1999 to 43 in 2007, says Ann Fox, director of special education programs for Minneapolis schools. The number of Somali-speaking children in the Minneapolis school district increased from 1,773 to 2,029 during the same period.

Few, if any, Somalis had ever seen anything like it. "It has shocked the community," Farah says. "We never saw such a disease in Somalia. We do not even have a word for it."

What seemed to link the two regions was the fact that Somalis were getting less sun than in their native country—and therefore less vitamin D. The vitamin is made by the skin during sun exposure, or ingested in a small number of foods. At northern latitudes in the summertime, light-skinned people produce about 1,000 international units (IUs) of vitamin D per minute, but those with darker skin synthesize it more slowly, says Adit Ginde, an assistant professor at the University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine. My 4mth old jut got vac' yesterday. She is a cranky little girl today, but I expected that since she is normally the crankiest baby I have ever met LOL.

My older 3 have always spiked high fevers within hours of vac's, but as they get older the reactions have gotten smaller and shorter which is nice. Thankfully my kids have almost no reaction to the flu shots.

For some reason Eriella doesnt get a fever with her shots like my older kidlets, but she acts much more miserable and her shot marks get that hot feeling around them.

It's not a theory, it's at best a hypothesis.

10 minutes in the sun if you are fair-skinned gives you about 10,000 internal units of vitamin D. The recommended level isn't even at 1000.

The 'rapid increase' has more to do with correctly diagnosing the disease than anything else.

Hi,

You can always delay any vaccination. It is fine, it doens't alter any of the others that have already been given. I have a lot of personal, negative experience with vaccinations, but I won't go into here. Just follow your instincts.

My granddaughter who is 18 months old got 5 shots around Christmas she was so sick I don't know if its the shots themselves or the amount that kids get all at once. My granddaughter was so sick for 2 months fevers rashes vomiting just one thing after another my daughter and I decided to break up the shots from now on no more then 2 shots (one vaccine in each shot) I am not sure but I don't think their little bodies need to fight 6 different strains of stuff at one time since my grand daughter was sick her development stopped and even back tracked she is still fighting one cold after another when she was never this sick before. we don't take her out to public places anymore just because she seems to have no immune system anymore the doctor says that it is okay just normal child hood illness but I am not sure but it has made my daughter and I think about all the shots that they give kids now days. I know they get way more shots then my kids did, so I am reading everything and will delay and post-pone shots and spread them out if the doctor has a problem to bad there is to much evidence out there that shows that spreading out the shots does not hurt the kids and in many cases helps with the side effects. IMO

I personally fear more from the vaccines than the diseases. If you want to research more check out http://www.mothering.com/discussions/forumdisplay.php?f=47 they have people from all sides that discuss it and give good sites to research further. The CDC pink book is a good one http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/pubs/pinkbook/pink-chapters.htm

I've
done my research on each vaccine preventable disease and will take my chances. As you have noticed doctors ignore patients reactions therefore they don't get reported to the CDC like they should. Personally the milder disease I would prefer my children to get natural immunity from them. Natural immunity lasts a lifetime. Vaccinations only last for a period. Then you have to revaccinate. Chances are as an adult you have already lost immunity to some vaccinations and you aren't getting the diseases.

I have met healthy adults who have never had a vaccine in their life.

Good luck in your decision.

The reason a child gets cranky after a vax, is that the immune response causes a swelling of the brain for a period of time.
She has quite a headache from that vax:(
