We have been approached several times from local feedstores about hatching big stock chick's to sell to feedstores. They seem to want a local supplier i stead of ordering from hat hatheries.Like RR, buffs, australorps etc. Anyone else do this?

I would suggest that if you can provide the chicks, DO IT TO IT. What volume and type was the feed store looking to get??? You obviously would have to plan ahead with sufficient fertile eggs and sufficient incubator equipment.
Reason the feed store wants local, is simple.... You deliver with less stress than shipping via mail.
WISHING YOU BEST.

I'm always in favor of entrepreneurship.

You may need NPIP certification even though the chicks are being sold locally. Check with your state's department of agriculture. Better safe than sorry.

NPIP is on our to do list this summer..Not really looking to do a huge amount, maybe 100-150 per week give or take. We could do that many now with our equipment..Maybe just make some side money to pay for feed ect..
