The last chick that’s with mama. Found one dead early on and the second disappeared one day so mama and this little girl were locked in the shade garden for a bit until the baby got bigger

The volcano girls are getting so big! I have the door to the shade garden open today to start the mingling process. Mama and the barred rock are pretty chill. The ducks don’t seem to care much and the EE girl is not very nice. Keeping a close eye on everyone today

Sorry you lost some of your littles. The one remaining looks like she's going to be really pretty! 💗

Those girls are really growing. Hope the EE doesn't keep treating them rough and they integrate quickly.

RIR roosters are beautiful.

Sorry to read of the losses. Your remaining little is a pretty one!

Mama is done being mama. I’m glad I locked her and the chick in the shade garden with the volcanoes. There are Harris’s hawks nesting nearby so the three little girls are still in the shade garden and I locked mama out. She’s back to laying eggs and is consistently leaving the chick behind/chasing her away. I’m hoping the three little girls will form a bond so when they are big enough to come out of protective custody they will be able to withstand the bigs. In lockup they have access to food all the time and of course water, so I’m not feeding the wild pigeons.

That's just sad... chasing your baby away. I hope they bond too.
