That's funny I was just thinking the same thing. Yes you did get some eggs from me off ebay. My goal this summer is to put up breeding pens for each color. I only had buffs until this last summer, then I got hooked.

I don't think I got any buffs from you. But that's great 'cause I already have 3 of those. I'll have to try to get all the orp chicks and take pictures. They are already super sweet. A couple have silver grey fluff and a tan face sooo cute, I can't keep them all but really want to see how they feather out. They did really well, I only lost 3 or 4 of them.

I know what you are saying because usually they are sitting down or we make them sit down but for some reason they want to be standing when holding them for pictures. I had figured maybe they were getting used to holding them but I guess not. Like I said... I think its just the little hands. Hard to cover them up.

From now on its going to be a bunnies down policy.

I looked at the rocks.... seems as though they all have the white on the head. Is there a diffrence in shape or color that tells the diffrence? Thats just looking though the glass on the incubator quick. I will look at the legs closer when I move them to the brooder.

That brings up another quesiton. I think I read that you can leave them in the incubator for 3 days living on the yoke. I have been leaving them for about a day and putting them in the brooder after they are good and dry. The ones that just hatched this morning do you think that I could go ahead and put them in the brooder as soon as they are dry? Then I can shut the incubator off and put it away so we can have more room.

What did you think of that egg picture I posted? Would you agree its a dud? As of now its still in the bator. I didnt want to do anything with it untill I got some feedback.

Not sure about that egg? Anyone else?

On the spot for the Barrs...the pullets have the more round spot..the cockerels have the more jagged..think that's what I was trying to say earlier..lol...
Good idea to look them up..you can go on here and type in sexing barred rocks..that post I was reading and then told about on here is there somewhere. She's done a lot..can't remember her name..sorry!

One baby left to come on out already! I'm not too sure about this one..it's struggling.

from what i heard Wade Jeane was the best BCM around:confused: but i want to know what the fuss is!

Well....I finally did it....tossed a couple of eggs.

One really, really porous and lit up like a light bulb when I candled it.....tossed it into the woods.

The other....it was the first egg I ever candled and thought it was a blood ring....then at 11 days still thought so....chunked it to the woods too. Could not look just in case I was wrong......but I am sure I was not.

So.....39 in the incubator. And I am not at all sure about those. But lockdown tomorrow night and then we will see.
