:celebrate Also I forgot I had 3 bobwhite eggs due to hatch and one of them has hatched

I'm getting nervous. I called my DH and he said there is not much change and no other pips.

I was hoping these six would hatch especially since I built the incubator.

gamebirds!

Paddock hang in there, what day is it now? Don't give up just yet. And there's info on affecting a rescue if you need to, on here. So there's still hope.

I know hatching in something you built just is different. But if this didn't go right you can tweak it and go again - hatching is always a learning experience, just a little too often a hard one.

This time I had one of the dogs unplug my fans... and a HUGE temp spike. If anything happens I'll be totally floored. While I won't get explicit, I opened an egg I thought was bad to find what I feared and gag. I'm afraid at this point they're all like that.

Even when the bator is built right things happen, so you gotta just take the good with the bad. And if you just built the bator, you might be tinkering for awhile. You're always sorting out your micro-climate as well as weather and house changes and the condition of the eggs.

A blue baby silkie was halfway zipped out this morning and died. I guess it wasn't strong enough.

On a good note, I had a black cochin/silkie hatch and another blue silkie hatch.
