Anyone hatching Dec 14th? Looking for hatching buddies for 1st hatch!

Officialy on lock down now.

Out of 16 eggs..I'm down to 6 eggs that should hatch.

I had 4 scrambled and 2 that stoped developing at day 6 it appears.The rest weren't developed.So I should end up with 4 Delaware and the other 2 are mystery from my own flock.I have a RIR and Barred Rock rooster and hens are either Delaware or Barred rock. Here's hoping everything goes good and my 6 lil chicks hatch! Thursday is the big day

Problem.....ok one of the eggs pipped a few hours ago, it is a small tiny hole. There is now blood coming out of the hole. Is this a problem? I know there is nothing I can do, but is this common??

By the way, chick #1 is doing great but he really needs some buddies.

Blood? hmm never had that happen before.What's your humidity at? Can you hear the chick peeping at all?

If it hasn't progressed in hatching after 6 hours or so then it might be getting stuck. How high is your humidity? The humidity will keep the membranes from drying out so it can slip out of it's shell easily.

The humidity is holding steady at 75....temp about 100ish. I do hear peeping, but I am pretty sure it is the maran and not the SSH. It was weird because it was this tiny little pip for hours, then it got larger and some blood started dripping out. It has stopped bleeding and it dried up on the side. So I guess only time will tell. In the mean time my BLO is cheeping his head off. He keeps leaving the heated area of the brooder when I walk away and makes it VERY clear that he wants me to come back and sit by the brooder. (yes, I took him out of the bator...he was all over the other eggs and kept doing a suicide leap head first of the top of his hatch mates) There is lots of peeping coming from the Maran and GL though....so we will see who makes it out first. I am betting on the GL.

Sorry Suechick, not me. In fact...I'm giving up on the homemade bator and running to the feed store this morning for another LG. I woke up this morning and it had dropped to 99.9 and 48% (still air)

This thing was completely steady till I put eggs in and now its all wonky! I have more to go in tonight and I'll just feel awful if they don't make it because I wanted to try building one!
