Don't feel bad. I stopped the turner for lockdown in my Octagon 20 EX advance incubator yesterday and told everyone the eggs were officially in lockdown. Later that day I realized I hadn't taken the eggs out of the rack and put them in a carton for hatching

Guess my mind is on Christmas and not hatching

And I'm not new to hatching either

Perfect breeds for the job!!!

I had a silkie zip yesterday and it had about 2 more pecks before it released itself. Somehow it turned around in the shell and smothered

I will take pics as soon as I put it in the brooder. I'm lettting it rest, its cord was still a little opened. Its a silkie.

All of you on here who have heard over and over how my DH just isn't into my chickens. Wellll, I get home today and he informs me that he gave 1 peep some vitamins because it didn't look "right". I am going to make a chicken lover out of him yet!! I did ask if he made sure he didn't get any in its nostrils, he said "what nostrils?" Poor peep! I quickly checked to make sure it was breathing!!

Update on my 1 lonely chik, I bought her (i hope her) a tiger stuffed animal from dollar general, still a little bigger than I wanted but worked out great!!! Ill have to take a pic, she stays cuddled under tigers arm, it's soooo cute!! So glad she's not so lonely anymore. I am hunting again this weekend, but I have a small travel cage I use for my sugar gliders and it was perfect for bringing her with me, I just couldn't leave her along all weekend, I told hubs she might become a house chicken pet, lol

I was afraid she missed her other peeps. she was the one who was sick and I was giving antibiotics to. She's doing good now.
