Hello Everyone, Sorry I have kept up with the notes but there has been very little to report as my initial thoughts appear to have been correct...One lonely egg remains as I prepare for lockdown. It has been a very interesting experience to this point and I am hopeful egg #1 is alive and ready to begin lockdown...He was alive at day 15 but at day 16 I knew it would be very difficult to see anything so after a moment of looking at a dark blob and a the air sac I put him back in the incubator and will go about things as planned and see what happens.

I am not sure of anything I am aware of which I need to change if I attempt another hatch with the exception I definitely will attempt to find some fertile eggs here in San Diego rather than ordering them from E-bay as egg #1 was the only one to ever show any signs of fertility and growth...

Congratulations to everyone who is experieincing a good hatch!

I don't know if you saw but I had none hatch out of my shipped silkies, if you can get around using shipped eggs, I definetely would. I already ordered another batch of shipped eggs from a different person, 6 speckled sussex and 6 deleware, I was very impressed with the packaging compared to my first batch of shipped eggs, so I am hoping for a better turn out, but we will see. Good luck!!

I hatched 3 of 7 shipped BBS Ameraucana eggs on October 29th. Along with 4 of 5 local eggs. The 7 chicks are thriving in their brooder in my dining room. Is it standard that to be a member of BYC, you have to have a brooder full of chicks in your dining room???

And just in case 7 chicks is not enough, I have 19 bouncing embryos, bouncing in their eggs in my bator - on day 13 today! These were shipped eggs, well packed, and I certainly did not expect that 19 of 24 would survive shipping!

I think I need counseling . . . otherwise I'll be ordering more eggs!

Congratulations! I am so happy for you!

Your photos are amazing! I am simply hopeless with the Internet but am really going to try to at least learn how to get my personal page to a level which isn't terribly embearassing!
