My neighbors down the street stopped by and asked us to adopt their lone goose and fell in love with them when they saw them. That is why I am hatching more. She had a coon raid her chicken coop so she needs some more to replace the loss and would love some of the top hats

So excited for you Melissa Rose!

One of my Splash Marans eggs has pipped (today is day 21!) but it pipped on the wrong end! I just had this with one of my Sizzle eggs and it didn't make it, so I'm hoping that this one does better.

Sorry if I don't get a chance to respond so quickly! I've been swamped with chores and things that need to get done, but I'll be checking back as often as I can!

I know we had alot of people pipping yesterday, how's it going?!?!?

We are on day 4 on our Speckled Sussex and Delewares, oh and my one silkie egg I snuck in there,

so far temp has been staying stable so hoping they are doing good, I can't wait till day 7 to candle!!!

I got home yesterday and had a egg with a huge pip in it, but all I could see were feathers. My husband said he could see a beak when he got home (3 hours before). So I took out the egg and opened it. The chick had completely flipped around upside down in the egg and was dead

I do have 8 beautiful peeps! 4 B/B/S, 2 partridge, 2 silver partridge. 1 blue is having trouble breathing, so I'm not sure if it will make it. I will post pics tonight!

I had to help my little "wrong way" chick to hatch yesterday, it was horribly stuck and couldn't shift itself around to zip. My first assisted hatch was a success, but man was I NERVOUS! I took it so slowly that it really took me the better part of the day before I got to the point where it could get itself out, but now (s)he is here and is adorable and chirping!

The little mutt egg I put in from my own chicken's has hatched too, it's kind of a homely little thing, but it pipped and zipped in 2 hours and was easily the loudest peeper I have ever heard. lol! Curious to see what a SLW and a Barred Rock hen produce,

Since last night though there has been no movement on any of the other eggs, so I did a quick candle since none were pipped... they're still moving and two were internally pipped so apparently they are just late bloomers as it is now day 22 over here. Good luck to everyone else!

The silver partridge is very pretty already. Its chipmunk stripes are gray and silver.

I also found a surprise when I went to feed the big girls. A huge dead opossum 10 feet from my coop door. My dobermans will be getting a nice big treat bone today!!

Hello! I lost my mind and bought hatching and they're already set. My hatch date is Dec 6th. They're bantam cochin eggs (16 of them). The colors are Mille Fleur and Splash. I also threw in three Polish bantam eggs that have frizzle genetics from my own flock.

So 19 eggs total in the bator! I'm crossing my fingers for an excellent hatch and what a nice Christmas Season gift that will be!
