I had a egg I had taken from my broody that I was unsure of its due date. It pipped yesterday. I couldn't raise the humidity because it was in a full incubator, so I closed the vent and crossed my fingers.   About 8 hours later I had a beautiful peep!!  It zipped and hatched just fine. I was really surprised, I thought it would be one I would have to assist.

I had company all day yesterday and forgot to check my incubator notes and missed a lockdown day  I put 6 splash marans into lockdown this morning. 2 are very questionable, but the other 4 look good e

Ok good Melissa, I was kinda upset for a sec cuz I didn't think she/he would be red, but thats reassurring, heres her pics from this morning, she looks worn out!!

My eggs are slowly hatching. Very slowly! About half of them have splayed legs. Im willing to do whatever i can to help them, right now, i have a couple in coffee mugs as i was told this can help. Advice please? Im so sad

The no slip shelf liner you get at the store will help a lot. It is kind of rubbery and has a texture to it and it helps them get their footing better!!!

I set a (duck) egg last Tuesday. I candled it today and don't see any veins. I set it it in my hova-bator on an automatic turner. This is my second time hatching my own but it's hard to remember what the first week was like. I see about dime sized blob at the bottom of the egg (small end) when I candle it. With some "floaty" things attached to blob.

2nd red silkie just hatched

.......it was like she waited on me to get home because I never get to see them pip, zip, and hatch because I am at work!!!!

I am soooo excited!!! First chick has splay leg, but I put shelf liner down and it's already doing better. Will post some pics soon!! Good luck everyone else whos hatching!!
