Anyone hatching on 20/21st August?

Quote:
Was it in a big egg? I noticed my orps that were in the normal/big eggs were huge compared to the other chicks hatched outta the small eggs.. Hoping she's a pullet for you too.. I know the feeling.. Now its the waiting game

Yes, it was in a big egg. Mama only had one bantam cochin egg that she was sitting on, so I know it's not a bantam cochin. Its mama could be an australorp or a black minorca, but judging by the size and shape of the chick, I'm betting it's an australorp cross. It's not wiry shaped like my minorcas were as babies. We hatched green, white and brown eggs, and I have no idea who is from which egg. Except the two with vaulted skulls who look to be pure polish, though mixed colors.

well i have a batch in the bator due tomorrow, aug 21st! hope all goes well, temp has been stable at 100.5 and humidity 35% for the first 16 days then bump to about 60% for the final few before hatching. well see tomorrow! i will post pictures of the clutch, assuming success! 31 eggs set, sad to say i have not gotten around to candling this lot, so im not sure what was fertile yet.

ETA: these are bantam eggs, so hatch at 19 days! tomorrow!

I got pictures of the two polish babies that hatched, and now I'm guessing which polish hen is their mama. Daddy is a silver-laced polish, and my hens are a silver-laced, a buff-laced and a white. I'm thinking the black baby is silverxbuff-laced, and the yellow baby is silverxwhite. Whaddya think? Anyone up for a guess?

And look at the beard and vaulted skull on the black baby! They're the same size on the yellow one, but I didn't get a good picture of its head/face.

And here's the two blue babies together. The bantam cochin, and the one I think is a cochin/australorp cross.

Now here's the one I think is a pure silver-spangled hamburg.

I put my bator on lockdown last night and am waiting for my first pips. A couple of the eggs have moved significantly from where I put them last night and I've seen most wiggle at least once, so I am hopeful I'll have my own pics to share before too long.

I am really looking forward to see what the 3 EE mix chicks look like and I'm almost positive I have one of my Jersey Giant's in there that is most likely crossed with my blue Cochin. The rest are more of a mystery, could be any number of combos.

So many beautiful little fuzzy butts!
Kassy68, those lav orps are gorgeous!

I have 1 chick that hatched just past midnight & 1 that had pipped.
I am glad I am not home right now to anxiously hang over the bator begging the chickies to come on out. I gave them several pep talks & left the 1st hatchling in charge of encouraging the others to come out & see the world.

HAPPY HATCHING VIBES EVERYEHERE!!
