Anyone Hatching on the 27th or 28th? - I Need Hatching Buddies!!

Ronnie, I candled the eggs and didn't see any movement

But I'm going to leave them int here for a couple more days just out of hope. At least I've got some IDEAL chicks coming in next weeks o I won't be left completely emptyhanded.

Out of the 28 due tomorrow, I have 7 pips, 3 French BC marans, 1 BLRW, 2 blue barred rock and 1 austrolorp. These are my prize eggs from Pumpkinpup. One little guy is making lots of noise and might be zipping a little. Need to go to sleep because I have a busy day tomorrow but want to sit up and see if more pip and if some actually get out tonight.

ha ha can you tell this is my first hatch?

Wow what an emotional journey this thread is. Congrats to all of you with babies.

Glad to hear DouglasPeeps is finally 'hearing' peeps - hopefully tomorrow there will be other signs of life as well.

ArizonaDesertChick - I think we're going to need to see a pic of that tough little chick that made it.

And, B. Saffles Farmspics, I REALLY think we're going to need pics of those little turkeys as well. I'm pretty sure I've never seen a brand new turkey and I bet they are something. (Though I bet if I did a thorough surfing job there's pics out there.)

I'm thinking my Runner's eggs might have another couple of days yet before I need to get worried - though it seems like it's been forever. And then there will be another week of waiting for my Magpie duck and her eggs. I candled a few from each nest again today and they still look alright, though the Magpie's nest has a faint hard boiled egg essence to it which has me a wee bit concerned.

Yes it is an orp but suppose to be blue. We had a surprise this evening. My daughter and kids came for the night and she noticed a quail egg rolling around. Upon further watching she noticed it was zipping. She never saw it before and was very excited. She watched it get completely out then another started. They drew the attention of everybody. My husband is the one taht wanted Quail and he was just as excited. After the second one came out and no more eggs where moving we all left but him. He sat in a chair staring into the bator waiting for more. They aren't due until tomorrow so I really hope we get more than 2 out of 17 eggs. They are very adorable. So tiny too. And lively little buggars. Here's a few pics.

Okay - here are pics of my tough little chick that spent 6 hours in our house before hatching in our bathroom.

The pointy thing is the meat thermometer I used to make sure the temperature above the egg stayed around 100 degrees.

My 3 1/2 year old granddaughter was thrilled to come over in time to see the chick make its way out of the shell. The basket in the pic is the one the egg was in - I had a light hooked up to the handle to provide the heat.

It came out of b/b/s orp egg - It was silver when wet, but now that it's dry and fluffy, it looks grey. It's now sleeping peacefully under a heat lamp. Tomorrow, I guess I have to hunt down another small chick so that it won't be alone. Hopefully, the feed stores have new chicks in.

Ok- 4 pips and lots of wobblers!

Can anyone guess what I'll get with this cross?
I have a black cochin banty roo and a white cochin banty hen.

The other hen from this group of eggs is a black sebright/serama looking TINY girl. She's had 2 chicks hatch previously and they are both black cochins with white bellies- like penguins. The cochin gene must be dominant there.

These chicks aren't due until tomorrow (29th)- if I counted right!

Woke this morning with 4 out of the shell and one zipped and ready to pop off the top. I have 9 other pips but that is not good enough, need more activity, Nothing from the French silver maran. I am worried the others won't hatch. I am selfish, I want all 28 to hatch. Of the ones hatched/zipped 1 is BLRW, 1 austrolorp, 1 French BC maran, and 2 blue barred rock.
