What pretty little chicky camoflage! Will they all be like that? I have never seen ws chicks before. Congrats!

I have 3 cochin banties hatched and several more pips! They are 1 day early but nobody has had yolk hanging or anything. They are such fiesty little things!

Ours seem ready to hatch. Left them alone for the night. One seems very active and impatient! He's been chirping and kicking since lunchtime!

I have peeping eggs! Is anyone still out there?

The only other egg that has successfully hatched at the place my husband fondly refers to as "Lorraines Folly" is our little runner duck of questionable heritage:

And now that same little duckling is sitting on seven eggs that are peeping. Wish her luck - we'll see what tomorrow brings.

How long did it take to go from peeping to hatching DouglasPeeps?

How are those seven doing?! Hope you have new faces shining up at you tomorrow morning. Guess I'll be checking back first thing. As someone posted earlier - what a lovely colored chick your first one is. So many lovely breeds and such limited resources!

It is looking like my Pekin Ducks did not survive the power outage...we're on 2 days past hatch day and no pips or movement! I have some very upset 2nd graders!!!!!

We've got our first pip! I think it's the one who was squeaking yesterday! He's itching to get out, and there are others right behind him! Momma hen's really annoyed with me for checking under her so much!
