Well I don't think I have to work about my little guy being exposed to too much grass right now. I live in the Pinelands and not much grass grows here without a lot of work. In fact what grass we did have in the back yard is gone since the geese feel that it is there mission to leave no green in sight. Front yard has lots of weeds including dandilion and clover which he loves. We will be taking him for his first vet visit on Sunday. We got him at a Reptile Show on Aug. 28th and realized on the way home that he was keeping 1 eye shut. Unfortunately I didn't get the breeder's info to ask him questions like what substrate he was on, etc. He gets a 10-15min soak in lukewarm water daily. He can put his head under if he choses and he is watched closely. He also likes to go in his water dish and bask on his slate rock. And he get to go outside in the sun for at least an hour a day. I have used sterile saline solution to rinse his eye in case he got something in it somehow and have been applying terramycin ointment for animals daily. No improvement so far.
chickenwhisperer your tort looks great. Thanks for sharing the video.
Chompers looks like he's looking for trouble.
Terri I'm sorry to hear about Stuart and Monty. They had a great garden. Can't imagine why they'd want to leave that haven. I've seen some pictures of how they can climb.
Clyde is too cool
Thanks for the links.
nop169 would love to see pics of your torts.
Thanks for sharing all your pics, experiences and info everyone. I know I've learned a lot from doing a bit of research already and know I have a lot more to learn.
