Anyone have an old hidden leaf table?

That is just beautiful. It has depth, it has soul. The "god's color" description is a great way to put it. We went to a craft show and bought a couple of framed wild animal photos. The man went to a lumber mill and they let him have the lumpy, bumpy, sometimes bug bitten, outsides of the logs they planed (I'm not real knowledgable about mills so pardon any mis-wording). He took the outsides, sanded them a bit, used a mitre saw to get the crosscuts for the frame, countersunk a "ledge" to hold the glass and voila' - the most beautiful, rustic recycle of wood I have ever seen - until I saw your furniture that is!!

I agree with the feelings about wood. We just finished having our "forever" home built now that we've retired, and chose hickory for the floors and kitchen cabinets because we love the streaks and knots. None of the antique furniture matches it, but as my husband says, "wood matches wood". Your table is beautiful.

Ha- I always say that- wood matches wood. We have so many types in our house, and we're just finishing a barn house that is all pine. Love it
