I've been at 99.6 and 45-50 humidity the whole time.Going into lock down tonight around 7:30.The chicken eggs are tomorrow but I won't be around for 2 days so their locking down tonight also.I hope a day early won't heart.I just don't have a choice.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the help since we really don't know what we are doing! I will look again tomorrow and see if there's a change. I have to turn them by hand anyway, so I might as well look at them too.

I would hold off. Day three is not a good day to make a decision about a blood ring. As far as I know they show up later, I may be wrong.

Thanks, I am going to hold off. Not sure if I will throw any away until the second week at least since this is our first time incubating. I got new camera for Christmas and used one of the "Night scenery" settings. Worked ok. I am going to mess with it again to see if I can get something clearer even.

Stephanie, I set 13 BO on Feb 11th. Doing this hatch by the almanac. Told to start eggs so that they would hatch in the sign of Cancer after the new moon but before the next full moon. Hence we need to have our babies on Mar 4th. I have six left that candled well. One new hen just didn't have any viable eggs. Trying to add new blood to my brood.

I set 4 eggs on the 16th and 6 more yesterday (feb 26). I have incubated lots of eggs but this is the first time I have ever set eggs that were fertilized in my own back yard. What an idea! I might get into trouble now that I have roosters! So many fertile eggs....3 incubators...so tempting... I love fuzzy chicks! lol
Oh, the eggs are from an EE hen who lays a beautiful vibrant egg and either a marans or ameraucana daddy. Hoping for even bluer eggs or olive eggers from daughters. yay!

Hey everyone, finally back home. I tossed 4 eggs last night cus of blood rings. My eggs are due the end of this week and the beginning of next week. Srry to hear about some if ur guyses eggs. Good Luck on the good eggs!! Happy Hatchings!! Cant wait to see the chicks! Great pics Of the candled eggs. Its very hard to get good pics.

I havent got a chance to read all the posts i missed while i was gone. I added one of my quails eggs to the bator. idk if its any good tho. Its shell is thin, and its compleatly blue. no brown dots lol. she hasnt laid in a few months. finally laying again.

Hopefully it will hatch out for you! I am excited about the 16 coturnix eggs I have in the bator. They were shipped so I am hoping they do well. They've been in only two days so I'm anxious to see the veining start!

How do u candle quail eggs. i can see in this one cuz its thin shelled and a light blue. but in the past her normal eggs were soo hard to see in. I could never see the veining or anything. one hatched before. So hopfully this one does. There a mix breed quail. Shes a corturnix and the males a Bob white. the baby that hatched before i gave away. there kinda ugly looking lol. But there good for hunting and eating i heard. GOOD LUCK ON UR EGGS!!!

Good luck. I have eggs im locking down 4 days early because i ran out of room in my other bator and i have no choice. Ive done it before. it dnt harm them. they hatch fine.
