Grazing Frame - Fodder Table Box - Continuously Grow Fodder & Seedlings & Sprouts For Chickens

Pics
I can't believe how many years has been since I started this thread!

My coop / run was moved and I never got around to rebuilding the fodder frame grazing table thing.

I'm curious if anybody still has theirs going, or if there are peeps that have build them in the last few years?

Any new or different thoughts around which seeds to plant?

I'm hoping I can get seeds locally, but if not, I'm curious what's available online... possibly Amazon?

I don’t use fodder frames, but I am rather frantically rotating their backyard foraging spots, trying to stay a step ahead of their grazing.

I’m having good luck with a variety of cover crops, meant for soil improvement, from our local seed supplier: https://sowtrueseed.com/collections...Gie-xYD_DAtFWPHl0PyLnQdMLE6sxN8Ko0guQya_2X7Zm

They’re not specifically made for poultry, but I’ve checked the seed contents of their various mixes, and most seem safe for chickens. But I’m seeing a lot more poultry forage seed mixes come on the market. Try googling under that phrase.

We don't use the frames either, but in the winter, I grow hard red winter wheat in the house in trays.

We get it from the Amish for around $8 for 50#. If you could find a feed mill, that would be way cheaper than Amazon. Plus, they'd give you other great ideas, I'm sure! People in feed mills love to talk. :)
