ANYONE HAVE EGGS DUE!! CHARTS ON PAGE ONE POST ONE!! NEWCOMERS WELCOME!!!

I have read that your humidity should be higher during the hatch for the shell to be softer and making it easier for them to break out like around 70 or higher.. We just got a cloth wet and with warm water or a sponge and that made the humidity climb within a few hours and held that way..Good Luck!!! We go in lock down Monday can't wait!

I also used a wet paper towel to raise humidity..worked great..out of 9 eggs that made it to lockdown, 7 have hatched and the other 2 are pipped.

I keep my humidity between 35 and 45% during the whole incubation process and then raise it to 60% at hatch. Mine have always done fine with this and I have great hatches. I have found that the temps being up to 70% make the babies stay wet and not dry. Just my experience. I wouldnt worry about the ducks pipping and rocking 2 days early. I just had a chick HATCH the first day of lockdown and most of the others on day 20 and they are all fine. I've heard if your temps stay 100 or a little over throughout the hatch then your chicks will be hatching a tad early. I run my temps between 100 and 100.5 most of the time but it cools off to about 98.9 to 99.5 during the night. Crazy how good my hatches are when my temps are all over the place. I had this last hatch get up to 109 degrees for about an hour when they were on the 3rd day of incubation. Guess what? I didnt harm ANY of them!!!! OMG how crazy is that! I waited two days and they were still growing so now I have 14 chicks that lived through 109 degree temps lmao

The shell is breaking off in a zip but the membrane is still holding on and no hole in it, is this still okay?

I've never heard of eggs surviving over 106 degrees. You were very lucky.

My first hatch was during a snow storm and we lost power for 3 days so my grandmother heated some water on the propane burner, put it in a heating pad, and laid it over the eggs to keep them warm. By the time I took it off, they were almost too hot to touch. I was for sure they were cooked. That was my one and only 100% hatch to this day, lol.

I think so, but I wouldn't hold me to that, mine pushed the membrane apart after zipping

Whew - okay, I'm hanging in there still.

That's crazy, perhaps you should do that every time? LOL

Best wishes on your hatch!!!!
