Anyone have Golden Pheasant mutations- Pics

u might have some but more then likely not...i had some reds pop out from my mutations...also after looking at the pic again...they both seem to have brown eyes...which would be females...if their eye start to change then they are males....if they are males they will have greenish, silverish, blue eyes...and the tails will start coming in either looking like the males or female...give it another month and you should be able to tell for sure

Saw an ad on eBay for "Yellow Golden Pheasants" but I am a bit skeptical about them. I think they are Silver goldens or possibly a cross.

Their Yellow Golden. I've had some that were a bright lemon color and some that were barely tinted yellow, all from a pair that were the darker yellow color. That being said, without DNA testing it's almost imposible to know if it has a crossing in the lineage. Although, the pics aren't the best...it appears that they "may" have some mixing.

Curious, what do you think they are mixed with? I ask because other than an Amherst whjich would make a darker bird what could you cross with and still look like a golden

They are not mixed. The colored male has no brown in its wings u can see the pied look of it. It's a mutation in the golden's. It would be called a yellow splash golden as for the others I can't see close enough. I have went thru easily 500 different golden's and their mutations. And some turn out different if ur trying to breed to color u don't breed the pied ones so to speak by him breeding them and people Are buying them he's just diluting an already diluted gene pool

That's what im thinking, Amherst, many generations back or possible Peach lineage in the past. Like i said, "picture is not that great" but if you enlarge it, there appears to be barring in it's tail feathers or it moved it's tail at the moment the pic was taken, and it's blurred. Also look at the hen in the back ground appears to have grey-ish colored legs? The males leg color isn't all that yellow either! The hens don't have much barring on their plumage. Look at the other posters pics....birdmans55's to be exact, his Yellow golden's look like what a Yellow golden should, if there was a standard for Yellow goldens.
As i stated in an above post, i've had a "lite" colored bird from normal colored parent birds but they also had yellow legs and normal spotting/ mottled tail feathers.

Feet color also change during the course of the season as well another thing to take into consideration. I would not buy that stock. Splash is something u will not be able to breed out easily and u will have very weird looking birds.

A better pic from the add

They are pale birds and the hens seem to have a lot of white. Barring in their tales ? maybe maybe not but they are unusual looking Golden's
