Bird toys are outrageously over priced! I get plain baskets, no paint, varnish glitter, etc for 50 cents - $1.00 on sale. At garage sales, when I tell the people what I want them for, lots of times they just give them to me for free! I get the unpainted blocks from Amazon:://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N2J7JA1/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8
A little high, 50 for $12.00, but she loves them!
Folgers, black being consumed here as we read this!ok....have a cup of coffee for me.....black.
I look at those toys, then find something cheaper and better in the used children's toys at the Goodwill! I have gotten old children's blocks there for $1.00, which is my limit for Dylan's toys! She likes the colored ones, but some are too big. Children's toys are safe to put in toddler's mouths, so I let her have those in colors. Lots of chew toys keep her feathers looking Good. If you notice in those Alex videos, they sometimes chew up their feathers. That was one of the criteria I had in looking at older birds, no pluckers! It is a habit that is almost impossible to break. You're so right! I can't pay $20 for a toy he's just going to destroy!! Those are great tips!

The 18 inch crate is plenty of room as a time out spot.
Probably very good if you wanted to limit mobility.
But... here's the but.
I put her outside and all the other girls came and jeered at her for bing in lockup
And one Stuck her head through the carats to give her a poke.
I don't want this to become an
ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK
situation
So now we are back inside in a crate within a crate.
*cat is being relocated after I hit post.
If you wait long maybe they will pay you to buy a crate. Seems like the price keeps going down.Update on the broody busting / crate dilemma.

What about suspending the broody breaker cage too high for those bullys? Swaying up in the air would be enough to break broodiness, I would think. Plain wire that you can see through to the ground far below, is not the secure, dark nesting location of a chicken's dreams!Update on the broody busting / crate dilemma.
