Anyone have luck catching a feral chicken?? UPDATE: Rooster caught, no hen

Well, I can't remember who had the hot apple sauce, but I'm jealous. I may have to go back to Virginia to find apples. No one around here seems to have them. I need to make apple sauce and juice for the baby.

Kiki, is it voting time again? I can never keep track of that.

Building... It is a never ending task. Nothing is ever finished.

Today, my 8 week old hens get to move to the upper pasture, they'll spend 3 days in the duck house (since the ducks moved into the chicken house) and then get to find their place in the pecking order and decide what house they want to spend the night in.
Voting time is every month.
One can nominate 4 people each month.

The badges are only handed out each quarter....for those of you not up to date on quarters...Next ones will be awarded in January for the months of Oct., Nov., and Dec.

Been up almost a hour. I went to let the peeps out of the coops. I opened the door to check on them and this noise happened. It startled me. It startled Sesame. Then I realized someone was trying to crow. I tried my best to get it on video, but couldn’t. It was the white cochin. He is flexing his man muscle (not really) this morning and letting everyone know there is a prepubescent teen in da house.

All the work I did remodeling the coop is a complete nightmare. The roosts are too high, no one will use the ramps. I cannot reach around in there. I also realized after I started building the run, I forgot to angle the corners, but it is too late to start over. I am feeling a little defeated this morning, but whatever!!! And I am all swollen and puffy from eating Mexican last night. And my friend sent me pics from her wedding and I look like a big cow standing beside her. It doesn’t help my looks that she probably wears junior clothes, is tan, a personal trainer and 5’. I love food. What can I say?
I eat Mexicans too! Woot!
And I see a cow each day looking in the mirror too!
Double woot!

Got a Fitbit?
I will challenge you!

I get layer feed from the farm where I bought my chickens. It all organic, no GMOs and is ground locally from grain from local farms. I'd have to go on her website to give you all the specifics. All my girls are on it.
You are not going to like what I am about to say...AND you are going to have to give me a few minutes/hours to find the exact posts/threads, but I have read SOME not so good things about vitamin/mineral deficiencies caused from SOME organic feeds. I will find it.
Do you offer oyster shell on the side?
