Anyone have luck catching a feral chicken?? UPDATE: Rooster caught, no hen

Some treats do not have the calcium layers need. Maybe just high calcium treats, only 10% of the diet. Low calcium things like strawberries have vitamins, but you have good feed that has lots of vitamins, and they lower the average of the calcium in her food.View attachment 1179358

Well, almost everyone is moved. All but one hen has moved into their look, don't touch shelter in the upper pasture. Babies re-joined their siblings after a month in the hospital. The one hen was hiding among the cockerels 9 boys, one girl... I'll bet she'll willingly leave that pen this evening.

Her feed is $18 for a 20 lbs bag. I have never bought feed or chickens anywhere else so I don't know how cost compares. She doesn't ship anymore but I have always driven there to get feed anyway. It's about a 1 and 1/2 hour drive but DH and I always try and make a day of it and go to a museum or the Westside Market or check out a new restaurant in the Cleveland area. I always buy 2 bags so I don't have to go as often

I'll chime in.
If you have 9 hens and are feeding more then say a half cup of treats (anything else besides a complete feed out) per day you are feeding them too much treats.

You can be boring with me. I don’t drink (because I have no stopping point), I don’t smoke, I don’t try drugs (because I would probably like them too much like alcohol), I like to craft and I LOvE to complain!! I love cook, bake and sew a little.
