Anyone have luck catching a feral chicken?? UPDATE: Rooster caught, no hen

I used to till up the garden, and throw all leftover seeds in the fall. This was in Riverside, CA. Zone 8/9 -- then the chickens got to it a couple of months later. I only had a half acre then, not a lot of space. The chickens destroyed it in about a week or two. That is why I am looking for 5 acres!

My poor girls don't get full garden access until fall.
I only have 1/4 acre and gave a lot of that to my birds and dogs. Gotta be creative to have much for the hoomanz.

Thinking going up since I cannot go out lol.
Been there! I like the guys who sprout. I sprout CHIA from Costco. As in Chia Pet. Great sprouts and seeds and Costco low price!

I noticed, OK. Getting your strawberries off the ground only saves them from slugs and pillbugs, birds see in living color -- Your red berries are a magnet to them! Birds see in the UV range, and WAY better than we do. When I want Dylan to be quiet I turn off her UV light. It is like twilight for her! I know, because she can tell me. She said, "Turn on the light". Not kidding.

You need to make some Dylan youtube vidyuhs for us!

Mine got the garden, but it was mostly stuff they didn't want or couldn't have. I did grow lettuce just for them, but just about everything else was on the no list.
We are lucky that mine seemed to grow out of it. I used to do stuff to get her to use her hands, ride bikes, patty-cake just occupy the hands! She got rashes from tags in clothes, laundry detergent was changed, whole 9 yards.
Was yours psychotic about socks? She couldn't wear fuzzy socks or socks w strings or socks w nubby corners. We had many morning meltdowns over socks. She still has tag issues. It's annoying bc she cuts out the size, or cuts a hole when she's taking out the tag.
