Anyone have luck catching a feral chicken?? UPDATE: Rooster caught, no hen

I think Sesame knows her name. I spotted a hawk today and the last time I saw Sesame she was free ranging. I was running around looking for her, shouting her name and she answered me, TWICE. Maybe coincidence, but I won’t change my story. :)
I believe this. 3/6 of mine know their names.
3/6 reduced =1/2 or 50%
Not bad!

1. @Anansi needs to start POSTING and quit lurking and liking everyone's post!! :D

It is creepy. I remember when I heard it a couple years ago, I had to do internet searching to figure out what it was.

Question: Is there less waste with pellet food? How do they eat it? Whole or break it up?

I believe they swallow it whole.... and, IMO, it's not less wasteful as they fling it around just as much as they do crumble.

GOOD MORNING SQUATCHERS!!!

I'm up way too early..... hate this... all I did yesterday was rake leaves!!!... yet my entire boy hurts like hell..... ugh..... gotta take 1/2 an oxy and prepare for leaf vacuuming today.

OH, and DH and I gotta slap together a brooder.... because 2 weekends got pissed away by SOMEBODY clucking around.... not naming names (DH DH DH DH DH), we're at the last leg of incubation on the eggs... they go into lockdown on MONDAY.... and the brooder I planned to build... well, that's lost until next year I suppose... back to a BIG cardboard box then.... which might be good *in the long run* anyway... since this will be the last hatch on Smuvers Farm this year.... no need to have a brooder after this.....

Gonna make some coffee... someone jump in here and say g'mornin!

Good Morning...
So sad! Also very rude for the hawk to steal your dinner grrr.

It depends on what you compare it to. Pellet vice crumble, little difference. compared to cracked grains, not much difference, cracked grains with fine meals are often more wasteful than the pellet. With the exception of fish meal and the vitamin pack, my birds don't like fine powdery (aka meals) stuff and will either leave it or toss it.
