Anyone have luck catching a feral chicken?? UPDATE: Rooster caught, no hen

It dawned on me today that if this hen is out in the woods sitting on a clutch of eggs...we could be here for weeks!
We need snacks, we dinner recipes, we need craft projects, we need one of you to make me a chart indicating who's married to whom, and we need an app developer to create a game called Catch that chicken.

When you get an egg from your Aussie can you post a pic? I still haven't been able to figure out which egg is from my Aussie.. I tried looking up pics, but it's frustrating b/c most pics show several eggs from several different breeds.

I have Australorps and they are a light tan with almost a shiny look not matte

I do not think there is a hen, I think it was just the cockerel all along. I know you are all hoping for a hen to saunter on out of the woods with a flock of babies in tow but I am doubting it at this point.

We caught a feral peahen. She stayed for a day-roosted in our tree overnight & then off to another neighbor. Used a fishing landing net-caught when she had just lifted off to fly away.
