Anyone have luck catching a feral chicken?? UPDATE: Rooster caught, no hen

Pics
Eric, if you continue to be creepy we're going to send you home.
Don't mess with us. We are grownup humans.
Hey Eric....that hitch-hiking roo of yours must've met up with that hen in the car insurance commercial (remember the one where the hen was riding in rail cars alllll over the country & sending her people pictures of herself in different locales?). Next thing ya know, there are peeps all over Southern Louisiana and the Dad is in the wind...again.

And the poster reads: "Wanted: One romantically inclined Rooster. Last seen setting up sound equipment in California before a Dixie Chicks Reunion tour." Maybe you could check, check, 1, 2, check, check 1, 2, 3, 4 him there.

.... Anyone have any suggestions on how to catch her?....

Find where she roosts then see how high above the ground it is. Get a poll about 4 feet shorter than her roost is tall. Nail a one foot long cross piece to one end of the poll. After full dark and preferably on a moonless night quietly slip into the woods and gently place the cross piece right in front of her legs or thighs and gently push up and back. To maintain her balance she will step up unto the cross piece just like she was roosting there. Then slowly lower the poll, hen and all and let you or your husband gently pick her up.

WARNING USE EXTREME CAUTION. iT is almost impossible for most humans to run down a chicken on the ground after dark. If she bales on you have a very bright flashlight with you and use it to blind her by the light.

BTW, I have caught 100s if not thousands of hens and roosters this way
