Anyone have luck catching a feral chicken?? UPDATE: Rooster caught, no hen

I don't eat saurkraut, or food w bones in it. Once my mom made soup from a chicken carcass, I scooped out a bowl and there was a vertebrae in it... I dumped it out. Ribs, wings... I don't think so.[/QUOTE]

Taters & Boneless Chicken...perfect, lol!!

We were discussing what to cook this week......
Chicken pot pie came up.

Sooooooo I pulled an ole hen from the freezer.

I know who it was. :th
But I also know she had a good life here.

Going to make chicken noodle soup later in the week too.

Don't get me wrong I know my birds live in the lap of luxury. They have a better life then any commercially raised bird. It's me who can't get past it. I can't bring myself to cull. If I did I'm not sure I'd be able to eat it.

People tell me I'll get there one day. I have moments with a troublesome teenage boy that make me think I might.
But if I'm honest with myself it will never happen.

I’m thinkin’ that squirrel is part of this crime family:

Geeze, hey....guy in the bowler hat...put on some pants already!! They're talking about saurkraut balls & you don't want a piece a that action, I'm telling you.

We have some giant fox squirrels at our place & the one with the nachos we call...Nacho! His wife is Cheese & every little one we see is Chips. The Grey Squirrels are all named Secret Squirrel. It's like they are all on a secret mission & part of their initiation into the organization is crossing a road in front of traffic. You make it...you're in. Every time we see a dead squirrel on the side of the road, one of us chirps "Awwwwww, he didn't maaaake it!"
