Anyone have luck catching a feral chicken?? UPDATE: Rooster caught, no hen

I think it would be nice if chickens smiled or something to look less mean.

For the most part it's not awful in the coop. It's not insulated but solid tongue and groove boards. It's also raised off the ground so I plan on stuffing some straw bales under it.

I just worry.

Ha Ha my third! I still worry. I also have 2 bantams in with the big kids. One roosts with everyone and the other is a bit of a loner. I'm sure if someone is cold they will snuggle in. Always looking for the best for my kids.

I worried bc the girls wouldn't move to the draft free roosting area I made for them, stubborn things! They insisted on roosting on the window ledge, sepataed only by clear plastic from the cold, and the draftiest spot in the coop. They were fine.

Omg! Yes. That's why I got rid of my double decker roost and had my husband build one long one! I didn't want Corrine to be all alone!

My bunch of stinkers found the rafter that goes across the coop. I tried stopping them from reaching it but they flung themselves into mid air attempting it and after several crash landings I gave up. I made tree/branch ramps down to lower levels to make the climb up and down easier.

I know she can climb up to the rafter but she doesn't when it's bed time. She's still new and finding her place so I'm hoping she starts to go up with the others before it gets too cold.
