Well, I got a HUGE deal on turkeys last year, and after giving away some, we still have 3 in the freezer. We don't do the holiday thing... no Thanksgiving (DH and his family are Cherokee) and, with it just the 3 of us, we don't cook a holiday meal for Xmas either... well, we make tamales... don't ask... we spent too long of a time stationed in El Paso... (smh)....

It gets my computer nerve twitching that double post seems to not have a reason why it does it one time and not another. Definition of insanity: Do the same thing and expect a different result.

Wow! That must have been quite the deal! We live in New Mexico and my husband LOVES tamales for the holidays. I didn't grow up here so I don't really get it

Total Mexican tradition.

We can eat them year round but don't and I only make them during the holidays for some reason.
