Anyone have luck catching a feral chicken?? UPDATE: Rooster caught, no hen

It gets my computer nerve twitching that double post seems to not have a reason why it does it one time and not another. Definition of insanity: Do the same thing and expect a different result.
I find that sometimes the screen doesn't refresh with the post displayed, so the most natural act is to push the post button again. Wala, double post.

That is the best kind of rooster problem to have. Your nice guys might have a shot at being sold to a person who wants a Nice breeder! Annoying, mean, small roosters that maim hens, those are crock-pot taco meat fodder!

I had one super sweet red-barred NN rooster named Raymond that I managed to part with and sell to a young man who wanted to start breeding NNs. He called me three weeks later and told me that Raymond was dead but wouldn't or couldn't tell me how....but he'd managed to fertilize some eggs. (This after the guy had also hatched two dozen NN eggs from my flock, and then all of the babies were killed in a dog attack.) So...he hatched out the eggs Raymond had fertilized, had a good hatch....and in less than two months all of those chicks had been killed too. That was the last time I sold one of my "pet" roosters.

Yeah, same problem with baby parrots. They are members of the family, the new owners often do not qualify to be members of the family.

Wow. What a jerk. Poor Raymond.

I wish! Promise, I only click Post once!
In that case, your browser must think the post failed and resent it. I caught myself doing the push it again thing, and started by refreshing the screen, before pushing the button again. But then there were times I was sure I hadn't, but still got a double post. Then again, I have horrible internet.

Yeah, he was still really young and "undisciplined" in poultry keeping, but it was hard to hear about all those deaths. I think he finally decided to sell off all of his remaining chickens earlier this year. He just never figured it out.

This was Raymond:
