The reason why I ask to see an adult, is because the barring is present only in juveniles--so I've read.

So it seems that the "Barred Muscovy" sorta doesn't exist, but it is more a phase in certain young birds, who do NOT retain that barring as adults.

Anyway, anyone have a pic of a (formerly !!!) barred muscovy?

I will in a few months

hes still barred and molting atleast! I'm curious to what he turns out too!
I'd like to see pictures in this thread! I want to know also!

This is actually two adult barred, solid birds.

They do retain some of their barring although it's not the quality of barring you get with a juvenile bird, unfortunately! It remains primarily on the body, the belly and the back. Incidentally, once a barred, always a barred! Can't lose genetics.

That is a chocolate on the right but the other is a self-blue (sometimes called lavender).

Actually you can have blue and silver barreds. Here's a blue drakelet.

I had a cream barred as well. You can't tell she's barred in photos but if you saw her in the flesh you could. Sadly she disappeared over the winter.

I have both blue and black barred juveniles. Here is a pic of one of my adult females of the juvies. You can't see her barring but when she flaps her wings you can see barring under her wings.
