Anyone have pictures of their duck shelters?

1/3 of our outbuilding is for the ducks. The rest is used for storing tools, duck food, etc. I put in an automatic watering system with nipples but I haven't tried to teach the ducks how to use it yet. I'm not sure if it will work.

I posted a note on Coops but didn't get a lot of response. I am more interested in their inside pen as I have a covered chain link dog run for outside. I live in an area where there is a lot of snow. The shed has a plywood floor and I know that would rot, so what do you do for the flooring??? I am new at this but I will have 3 or 4 runner ducks and I want to make sure they have a good shelter for this winter.

I accutally read somewhere that in winter, you can get a shed, line it with straw/haw/something and put a light in there, but that was for ducklings, would work for grown duck too.
I have a wooden house for my ducks to sleep in at night, I was afraid that would rot as it is very soft (don't know anything more than that wood comes from trees so I can't tell you what kind of wood it is), but I got an old (well, rarely used) piece of plastic they you use to put over carpets to stop marks. And now I'm worry-free about rot from all of the sh*t (pardon the French) that the ducks make.
So maybe you can lay some of that plastic stuff down, line it with newspaper and them straw or hay.

I am using a plastic doghouse just big enough for them to snuggle up in at night. During the day they have a fenced in area to run around in. The plastic is easy to hose out. I use a mix of straw and pine chips to line it and change that out 2 times a week.

I built a coop with 2 areas divided by ckn wire for ducks & chicks. I cut the plywood floor out between 3 floor joists & nailed in hardware cloth on the floor. I set the duck waterer on the hardware cloth & their water mess went to the ground. When I clean the floor I also have to scrape their droppings off the wire. No problem & the rest of the floor stays dry.

I built a duck house for a pair out of a 55 gal plastic barrel. I made a door in one end & a small ventilation opening in the other end & laid it in it's side. Straw for bedding. Worked great for 2 ducks.

I've also see where a lot of people get scrap linoleum flooring and put it on the plywood floors to keep it from rotting. I'm going to use a slide out box and probably line with something similar. My duck house isn't up yet so do not know from personal experience.

I don't have a photo for you but can tell you what I have done. I've had chickens for 3 years and this is my first year with ducks. TOTALLY different. Ducks are really wet and they tend to be slobs. I laid plywood for the floor, but after that I went to my local carpet/flooring guy and he gave me a great piece of vinyl flooring scrap. Nice piece. I cut it very carefully to fit perfectly on 2 sides, but ran it up the walls about 5 inches on the other two sides. They will poop on the wall. Then I cut two strips to fit the other two walls sealing them with clear shower calking. Seal everything right from the get-go so their poop doesn't squish down in between anything. You can clean vinyl so much easier than anything else.
