I accutally read somewhere that in winter, you can get a shed, line it with straw/haw/something and put a light in there, but that was for ducklings, would work for grown duck too.
I have a wooden house for my ducks to sleep in at night, I was afraid that would rot as it is very soft (don't know anything more than that wood comes from trees so I can't tell you what kind of wood it is), but I got an old (well, rarely used) piece of plastic they you use to put over carpets to stop marks. And now I'm worry-free about rot from all of the sh*t (pardon the French) that the ducks make.
So maybe you can lay some of that plastic stuff down, line it with newspaper and them straw or hay.I
