Anyone have reptiles/amphibians? Show 'em off!

Thanks, I also felt sort of bad for them considering they were only about a foot from the shore. I coaxed a few balls of ants to the shore with a stick, but as beautiful as the widow was, I didn't want to take my chances. I don't have any pics right now of the pond, I'll try to remember to get some and post them. It's an old pond, at least 80 years that we know of. I love having it, and the wildlife it attracts. Right now we have a resident pair of canadian geese (hopefully they'll nest soon), a pair of kingfishers, a lone great blue heron (poor guy/gal never seems to have a mate) and today we witnessed an osprey visiting from a nearby lake try his hand at fishing here. Occasionally little green herons and bufflehead ducks will visit. It's well stocked with many types of fish, and is home to tons of turtles (including some pretty giant snappers) and frogs. They shallows are COVERED with tadpoles right now. Soon the turtles will also start to nest. We have one high bank that they lay their eggs in each year.
Great to have all that natural wild life at your pond. How much fun to watch. Can't wait to see pictures.

I FINALLY got some pics of the pond. Prepare yourselves.

Where a creek feeds into it. I call this the 'swamp', it is a haven for turtles and frogs.

A view from the far bank.

And some of the amphibian life.

So I had to share this. My rat snake, Alduin, is not the brightest of creatures. He shed the other day before I got home, and when I got home I noticed something very odd. His shed skin was laying loosely around the tank, but I noticed it looked darker than normal. Sure enough, to my surprise he was inside it. But wait, why is it so loose and saggy? And why is it so tight around his head and loose around his tail? Then It hit me. When I realized what happened I laughed for quite a while. The silly creature had seen his shed whole skin, and decided it would be a fun little tunnel to crawl into. And he got stuck. He was desperately shaking his head back and forth and trying to wiggle back out of it, but he had crawled too far inside and the small tail end of his skin was stuck around his head. It was like watching a cat with a sock on its head

his actual tail was sticking out of the mouth of the skin. I spent a few minutes laughing at his misfortune before helping him out. I tore it around the middle and slid each half off. He very quickly slide into his log house and hid
