I got them from George Nauss of Brookfield, NS. Apparently when the Agricultural College in NS dispersed their heritage flocks, he got some of the birds.

The rooster doesn't look like the hens. He has some white on his back and the top part of his wings. The rest of him is black/teal green and grey

I am happy to see that my rooster looks normal (and like other silver-pencilled PRs). He does't have as much white on him as the mature rooster pictured on that site. I am hoping that he will develop a full neck ruff.

He's young still - he'll get there. They are a slow maturing breed. I had 2 boys, but the coon liked them better. I have 2 girls left.

Wynette's are some of the best SPRs in the country. Very tempting to start another Rock variety here because of hers.

Silver pencilled pymouth rocks are the most beautiful chicken! I have always wanted a rooster. I suppose I will have to raise them someday.
