Anyone Have Spangled Hamburgs?

What do you mean they are crazy? This is my first time having chickens in general and between the RIR and Hamburgs I def like the RIRs more!

I'm sorry, but what I meant was they are so flighty. All the other chicks/chickens I have don't scatter so fast as these breeds do when I approach them. I am just not used to birds screaming and running.

They are quite beautiful though but I would not personally buy anymore. It may be just my bunch, who knows? I certainly didn't mean to try to discourage anyone from owning any. I see some have the spitz a their avatar so they all can't be bad.

They don't calm down much, and don't like attention in my experience. Gorgeous though, and very good layers...

My SSHs have been very calm, but reserved. It was easy to decipher cockerels from pullets by 8 weeks

My SSH bantams have been calm, not flighty like Leghorns.

I have 1 SSH hen, but she's not teritorial or anything; she just kind of goes with the flo. She doesn't even care about the pecking order, she's never pecked any chickens or been pecked by any chickens before. She loves to fly,though. once she flew up to our garage roof, and we had lots of trouble getting her down!
