I see they have a great specal with the 25 or more bonus chicks, that will be roosters. I am interested in getting those so therefore I can easily order more regular chicks..my question is, has anyone ordered from them? I seem to find little info. on them.

I have a friend that just ordered from him and they are doing great and I will be ordering from them soon. I am getting 55 normally priced chicks so that will qualify me for that 25 bonus chicks deal since I am buying at least 50 at normal price. And in addition I am getting the #2 Bargain which is 200 surplus chicks( roos) for $50. A total of 275 chicks for just under $200, thats a heck of a deal.

Go for it .

Thanks, that is what I was hoping to hear......sounds like I am going to enjoy some baked/fried chicken next winter!

I have experienced the worst customer service from Mt Healthy. I have ordered from other hatcheries with far mor luck. Maybe just a bad representative I spoke with...

Can't vouch for the customer service as I've only talkedto them once, but they were nice. Hubby ordered a pullet special and got 50 extra chicks (100 pullets). He lost 2 total.1 just crippled up sray legged and one he squooshed with the feed bowl. They did really great for him. A friend has ordered multiple of the #2surplus chicks.

Thanks Whisky Bay...now I really want to order from them...although it's very interesting how they can just throw in an extra 50 chicks....hmmmm

They supply our local Tractor Supply here in Kentucky. I've bought Easter Eggers from them through the mail but a large amount of the pullets layed brown eggs. Their barred rocks seem to be exceptionally healthy. I buy the pullet BR from TSC and then sell them at swaps over the summer.

I've bought from the twice. First time didn't turn out so good, but it wasn't their fault. The order arrived at the local PO and I got a call to come pick them up. So, when I arrived at the PO the counter guy goes back and didn't come right back. He was gone far too long. When he did come back he asked my name again and left for a while longer. Next time he came back it said that someone in the back had given my chicks to the TSC guy that also had an order from Mt H. They recommended I go out to TSC and see if they still had my chicks. By the time I get out there, my chicks had already been sold.

By this time, I'm really upset.

So, I called Mt H. to tell them what happened. They did send replacements but not all of them were the GLWs I had ordered, some were SLW. All of those did survive. The PO had to reimburse me for the full cost of the chicks, and TSC had to replace the chicks or in other words, pay Mt H. for the replacement chicks. So, I ended up getting chicks plus I had bought some others from TSC and ended up with about half of those being roosters.

The second time I ordered, none of those issues happened and all of the chicks lived. Well, up until they either got eaten or are still out in the coop laying eggs. Of the EEs from there two lay a mostly blue looking egg and one a pink, the other is kinda cream colored.

I won't say I was 100% satisfied, but if you just want some good healthy chicks, that lay eggs and provide you with countless hours of watching enjoyment, it is hard to fault them.
