Anyone impatiently waiting for your baby chicks to arrive?!?!

Very much so!!! So far we only had 1 DOA, an Australorpe, we are missing 2 Easter Eggers, and have 2 Easter Eggers not doing well. One may not make it, the other has a crippled leg. But the cripple is moving around and eating and drinking, so she may make it. Not holding out a lot of hope for the other, gave GroGel, water and some vitamins in the water. So far everyone is happily eating the gel and drinking water. Even the Turkeys are doing great, which from what I've heard and read is great because they tend to not do very well. Called Ideal Poultry about my missing chicks and the sick and dead ones. They are sending new ones to replace them, including a new male Easter Egger because we aren't sure if that was the one that was missing or not. My other males are marked with a sharpie by the guy who packed my order, that was awesome, they normally don't mark males. But since my order was so large they did. No extra peanuts, but my shipment on Monday will because there is only 6 chicks coming. The extra peanuts will be all males, which is fine. We will eat them depending on the breed, I asked for no Leghorn birds LOL Will order more ducks and turkeys next year from Ideal, we have always had such good birds from them and awesome customer service.

Well that don't sound to bad.
I had just ordered chicks and in the white egg layer mix I also asked for no white leghorns. Seen them at the small animal sale and did not care for them.

We had White Leghorns in our last order years ago from Ideal as packing peanuts. Mean *** birds, we ended up eating them. I love brown layers LOL I like how some love white eggs and some love brown, and us other crazy people that have the Easter Eggers for funky colored ones. I really want to get a few Olive Eggers next year too.

I am working on a nice mix of everything.I have some nice green egg layers , welsummer and some random beige and brown egg layers.I have incubating more dark brown eggs and blue egg layers and white egg layers to be shipped end of may.

I am waiting for 10 silkie chicks to come. I was thinking about getting all white chicks, but I felt like the surprise of how the chicks look would be fun. I ordered hatchery choice. I want to have a small flock. My kids will love them especially the silkies fluffiness and its docile nature. It will teach them responsibility. I can't wait for my chicks who are coming on June 3rd

My chicks have arrived this morning, but cannot seem to upload any photos. All twelve arrived safe and sound along with another 12 packing peanuts.
Well keep trying to upload pics!!! My fuzzies are all doing well, even the one with the crippled leg is doing good. I have 1 EE chick I'm worried about. I have 1 chick that was in my Red Broiler batch I'm not sure about. It doesn't look like a broiler chick, it looks like a Blue Laced Wyandotte, but Ideal doesn't breed those. Very strange. Should upload a pic and see what you guys think.
