I'm looking for a buddy for my little wild duckling. He cuddles up to the mirror and goes to sleep and it is breaking my heart. I wish the woman that gave him to me would have found two instead of one. I don't know whether I should handle him alot or not - I don't want to make things worse for him when I can't spend time with him.

Give him a teddy! He misses his mummy. It depends on what you want to do with him. Do you want to keep him or let him go? What kind of Duck is he?
They don;t need much more looking after than chickens. Infact one of my neighbors has chickens and two Mallard ducks. Also duck eggs are really yummy!

Hope you get a friend for your little ducky. If you decide to keep him handle him a lot !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you decide to let him go then don;t, our neighbor just let all his ducklings go on the local pond but kept mum and dad! He will let them breed again next year but for now is enjoying the eggs.

oesdog,

In Alaska its not only illegal to set your domesticated birds loose in a local pond but they would not survive up here without
humans taking care of them. The wild duckling since it has now been raised by a human won't know the first thing about
being a wild duckling and will die in the winter up here since it now requires human interaction.
Tia the best thing you could probably do with that little guy if you are sure he's a wild bird is to contact one of these outfits....

It'll also keep you out of any legal problems that may arise from not reporting it. They would certainly be able to show you in the right direction.
