Someone on one of my FB pages lives near a canal. There are multiple spots on the canal that have loads of ducks, however, 2 have decided they wanted to become house ducks.
The thing is, more than likely they were dumped. For the past two weeks they show up at a woman's house and have made her front yard their new home. They can be pet and they eat out of her hand. She tried to take them for a long walk back to all the duckies at the canal. The next day they were back in her yard. The two are friends and obviously bonded. Unfortunately she can not keep houseducks. Or even backyard ducks. There are lots of predators out here, too. I'm trying to direct her somewhere where they can be safely homed. We're in central California and I would be willing to help with transportation.
