Anyone in Ireland?

Speaking of incubators...

Does anyone know of a service for rental of small incubators? I keep a few chickens but would like to try hatching €130-150 seems like a large outlay on an incubator that I may only use 1-2.

The only thing I could find was an educational service for schools. I was considering letting a hen stay broody and order some eggs for under her but it seems to have a much higher failure rate.

For someone hatching for the first time get a broody hen. If you have a good one she will do all the work for you and raise the chicks and all you need to do is give her a small house to herself and feed them. Incubators are a lot of trouble if you are only hatching small numbers of chicks and there is a lot that can go wrong with them.

I just broke a broody hen. Lol she will start sitting again eventually though!

Was anyone at the sale in Gosford at the weekend? It is the biggest poultry sale in Ireland.

I have never been to a poultry sale before.
I got my birds through ads on adverts and donedeal.
What are the sales like?
