anyone in KS want to do one of those community 'chickenstock' meet ups

Galva I have been there before my deceased FIL lived there, Allen Heckerman. My ex husbands Dad. Anyways someone also said something about the sale barn at the farigrounds, but I haven't checked into that yet.

April 18th there is a bird auction in Dodge City at the fair grounds. I went last year and it was lots of fun. They had all sort of birds and other wild things! If anyone is in the area they might think about showing up!

I plan on going to Dodge, I hope it will work for me. It would be great to meet BYC people there. There is a link to the web site that has the sale somewhere but I have lost track of it again.

I have 7 children and will not be able to make it to Dodge city, I can't be away for too long. If I find anything about a sale at the fairgrounds here I will list the time and place and maybe we can have a meet up also!?

JustHatchin - I will look for you there if I can get out of Prom duty...might have to send my birds with a buddy

Soccer Mom - Sorry to hear you won't be able to make it...it is a kid friendly environment and if I 'member right it didn't last that long...just a thought!

Havent been to Dodge City sale. Planning on going to Overbrooks on April 11th, & went to Gardners yesterday. Got the Dodge one marked down!

My husband is the bigger chicken enthusiast of us both, (i don't know all the breeds.) ~ My husband got a pair of Silver Duckwings, (pretty cute little boogers) & his friend got 2 pairs of OEG. (also cute little birds) We paid like 10.00ea. He wanted the only pair of Mil Flurs that we saw, but we didnt get those. ~ What ducklings did you get? The ducks i saw were a little bigger than what i'm looking for. I'm looking for Rouens that will fit in your hand to raise them from there. I love the Mandarin ducks too, but if i got those, i would want them real small too. I also only saw 1 buck Holland Lop. I'm looking for a doe. ~ That was the first BIG auction that we've been to. We are looking forward to going to others. ~ We've only had chickens for about 7 months. (about a month before i found & joined this site) & it has snowballed from there! lol
