I have picked a really great breeder/farm, yet I don't want to have 25 birds. I'm sorta hoping around 5....

Maybe a few people could step in with breeds they want, until we reach 25. It's called Superior Farms, at www.superiorfarms.net. They have a HUGE SELECTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Both standard and bantams, rare and common and SHOW QUALITY! OH, and there is also ducks and geese. The minimums are 25 day old chicks, or 4 goslings, or 15 ducklings. I BELIEVE you can mix, I'm unsure. It is run by Danny Padgett, who I think is a former judge. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me out! (Oh, and I am around San Francisco bay area, so you have to be from around here. Well, unless you want to drive, either way is fine by me, but they would be delivered to me.)

Superior Farms is liquidating. There's a big ad on the back of Poultry Press listing all their breeding stock for sale.

You
might try Urch/Turnlund instead: I bet you can find 5 people to go in with in the Bay Area. Keep in mind, though, that if you're buying chicks, that the exhibition quality breeders will generally only sell straight run chicks, so you'll end up with some roosters.

So are they still open or have they sold out?
I'd go in with you. I'd actually like to get a hold of their breeding stock though. I think I could get some Sumatras and Cubalayas past DH. And only been out here for a year, so Bay Area is still home, kinda. Are you on the Oakland side by any chance?
